Has anyone been following this game? It could be the next big thing in terms of MMO games.

Star Trek® Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game set in the Star Trek universe. Star Trek Online is currently in development for the PC. Game features will include customizable ships and characters from the Klingon Empire and United Federation of Planets, ground, space and shipboard gameplay and unique options for player-generated content.

If you're in to EVE or WoW it might be worth a look, there open beta is currently running and will end on the 26th January ready for the release on 5th February in Europe. Only thing to remember is there's a monthly subscription to play, prices have just been released and they start at £8.99 a month but it's cheaper for 3,6 or 12 month subscriptions and currently there's a lifetime subscription offer for $239.99 (around £150).

I have this game and its realy good, you do get 30 days free with the game when you purchase it, the best feature is you can add other players who have the game and you can share equipment and help each other do missions.

I might give it a go if I get some time after BC2 release

As i'm quite the startrek fan (but not a trekky I hasten to add), I was very nearly tempted to give it a go, but I just can't get past the feeling that playing MMO's is just one step shy of being a nerd who play's role play games in 'game workshop' type shops lol
